Mironov proposed to nominate Putin for the presidential elections in 2024

The leader of A Just Russia – For Truth, Sergei Mironov, proposed to nominate the current head of state, Vladimir Putin, in the upcoming presidential elections to be held next year. Mironov announced this at a meeting of the party congress.

“I suggested that the congress delegates nominate Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin in the upcoming presidential elections in 2024. His actions are fully consistent with our goals and objectives. The party “Fair Russia – Patriots – For Truth” will provide full support to the current head of state, – wrote party leader in his Telegram channel.

According to him, from the very beginning of the special military operation, the parties “turned on in full – with initiatives and concrete actions.” Mironov believes that this work should be continued.

The fact that the party is going to support Putin in the next elections, and not nominate its own candidate, Mironov declared at the end of February on the air of the Russia 24 TV channel. “I will suggest to my comrades not to nominate a candidate from our party, but to support the incumbent President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin. I believe that this is the most correct patriotic decision,” he said.

In 2024, presidential elections will be held in Russia. On January 20, Ella Pamfilova, chairman of the Central Election Commission, announced that the CEC had already begun preparations for the presidential elections in 2024. Kommersant newspaper reported that the presidential administration was proceeding from the fact that Putin would take part in the elections. Presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov then said that preparations for the elections had not yet begun in the presidential administration and in the Kremlin.

At the end of November 2022, the head of state said that he had not yet decided whether he would be re-elected for a new presidential term. At the same time, answering the question about what other goals he would like to achieve for Russia, the president said that “I would like to realize the plans that we have announced, the goals that we have set ourselves for the development of the country.” After that, Peskov said that in the last year before the presidential elections, the main things for Putin will be “things that need to be completed 100% effectively and victoriously.”
