The head of the Just Russia – For Truth party, Sergei Mironov, said that at an extraordinary meeting of the State Duma Council on August 25, deputies would discuss the situation around the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant. According to him, the deputies will make a “tough statement”, which will be addressed to the UN and all international parliamentary organizations.
“On Thursday, the 25th, the leaders of the factions will meet with the chairman of the State Duma, and approximately at 15 we will convene the Council of the Duma, at which our tough statement will be adopted. We address it to the UN and all international parliamentary organizations. This is a threat to all mankind, the world must know who is trying to set fire to the nuclear fuse, ”Sergey Mironov told reporters (quoted from Interfax).
Mr. Mironov added that the decision was made today, August 22, at a meeting of the leaders of the faction with the chairman of the State Duma, at which the Zaporozhye NPP was discussed.
On Friday, August 19, it became known that the State Duma Council would hold an extraordinary meeting. According to Kommersant’s sources, the meeting agenda will include a statement on the events around the Zaporozhye NPP and bills submitted to the State Duma in July-August, which must be sent to the mailing list.
Since the beginning of August, the Russian-controlled Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant has been subjected to regular shelling. Russia and Ukraine mutually accuse each other of delivering strikes on the territory adjacent to the station.
