Deputy Finance Minister Alexei Moiseev, answering a question from journalists about a possible extension of the terms for issuing preferential mortgages at 7% for apartments in new buildings, said that the Finance Ministry proceeds from the fact that the program will end on December 31.
Mr. Moiseev also noted that the ministry does not see the need for new measures to support the primary housing market.
The government raised the rate on preferential mortgages from 7% to 12% after the Central Bank raised the key rate to 20%. Then it was decided lower the rate to 9%.
On June 17, President Vladimir Putin during his speech at the 25th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum proposed reduce the rate on preferential mortgages from 9% to 7%. June 17 Ministry of Finance introduced relevant document to the government.
The maximum amount of preferential mortgage is 12 million rubles. for Moscow and the Moscow region, St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region and up to 6 million rubles for other regions of the Russian Federation. As part of partnership programs, the loan amount can be increased to 30 million and 12 million rubles. respectively.
