The representative of the Russian Defense Ministry, Lieutenant General Igor Konashenkov, told how the Armed Forces of Ukraine shoot their own fighters who surrender to the Russians.
“During the battle, the commander … of the Armed Forces of Ukraine addressed the Russian command via an open radio channel, declaring that his 14-man unit had voluntarily laid down their weapons and wanted to surrender,” he said.
According to Konashenkov, the Russian fighters of the Yuzhnoy group suspended hostilities and placed the surrendered Ukrainians in a dugout for the night. However, the enemy aimed at this dugout.
“At night, Ukrainian artillery purposefully opened heavy fire on the dugout … About 300 large-caliber shells were fired. As a result of a deliberate strike … all fourteen Ukrainian servicemen who laid down their arms were killed,” he added.
