Ministry of Defense: Russian troops advanced three kilometers in the Kharkiv region

Over the past three days, the Armed Forces (AF) of Russia have advanced in the Kharkiv region by 11 kilometers along the front and more than three kilometers into the depth of the enemy’s defense. About it informs Ministry of Defense.
“In the Kupyansk direction, the assault detachments of the Western Group of Forces, in the course of conducting offensive operations on a wide front, improved the position along the front line in the areas of the settlements of Olshana and Pershotravnevo in the Kharkov region,” the military department said in a report.
In the same direction, in the Sinkovka area of the Kharkov region, Novoselovsky and Stelmakhovka of the LPR, Russian troops repelled 12 counterattacks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Near Kupyansk, Kotlyarovka and Berestovoye in the Kharkiv region, the RF Armed Forces hit the accumulation of enemy manpower and equipment.
In addition, during the day the Armed Forces of Ukraine tried to carry out an offensive in the Zaporizhia, Donetsk, Yuzhno-Donetsk and Krasnoliman directions. Russian troops repulsed a total of six attacks in these areas.
August 6 and 7 Ministry of Defense reported about the capture of strongholds and observation posts of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Olshan area. Earlier today, Colonel Sergei Zybinsky, head of the press center of the Zapad grouping, said that the enemy tried to launch four counterattacks during the fighting near Olshan and three more in the Novoselovsky area. The Russian military repelled all enemy attacks, the colonel stressed.
The Russian special operation in Ukraine began on February 24, 2022. During the hostilities, Russian troops took full control of the LPR, as well as most of the DPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions. Subsequently, the subjects became part of Russia. The Armed Forces of Ukraine have been conducting active offensive operations since June 4. The Kremlin has repeatedly stated about the lack of success of the Ukrainian army.
