The Airborne Forces unit repulsed the counterattack of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (APU) and inflicted a fire defeat on them. About it informs The Russian Ministry of Defense in the Telegram channel.
“The paratroopers advanced towards the Ukrainian militants preparing for the attack and aimed fire from the AGS-17 Plamya automatic grenade launcher, as well as RPG-30, RPG-7d and Fagot anti-tank grenade launchers, inflicted a fire defeat on the enemy,” the report says.
The location of the fighting is not specified. It is noted that earlier the assault detachments of the Airborne Forces took control of this area, then the paratroopers equipped strongholds there.
On May 5, the Ministry of Defense reported that an airborne drone crew discovered a group of Ukrainian military in a dilapidated house near Artemivsk (Ukrainian name – Bakhmut), which the enemy converted into a stronghold. As a result, the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were hit by a T-80 tank.

The battles for Artemovsk have been going on for several months now. By words Acting head of the DPR Denis Pushilin, Russian forces occupied key heights in Artemovsk. Earlier, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said that the capture of Artemovsk would allow Russian troops to conduct an offensive deep into the defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
