Ministry of Construction: restoration work in new regions of Russia is ahead of schedule

42 thousand people are involved in the restoration of new regions of Russia (Kherson and Zaporozhye regions and Donbass), at peak times the number of builders reached 60 thousand. This was announced by the Minister of Construction and Housing and Communal Services of the Russian Federation Irek Fayzullin. He noted that the restoration of new territories at the end of 2022 was completed ahead of schedule.

“Peaceful life is being restored and in the schedules that we have set for ourselves, the government has set, the president … It should be noted that for 2022 this task was completed somewhat ahead of schedule,” Mr. Fayzullin said on the air of the Rossiya 24 TV channel (quote by RIA Novosti). Earlier, he said that 1.4 thousand houses and 780 social infrastructure facilities were built and repaired in the new regions.

On December 27, First Deputy Minister of Construction and Housing Alexander Lomakin told RBCthat at least six government agencies and 55 regions act as customers for restoration work in the new territories.

These are, in particular, the Territorial Development Fund, which is engaged in the restoration of engineering infrastructure, the public-legal company (PPK) “Single Customer” controlled by the Ministry of Construction – it restores residential and social facilities – and the state company “Avtodor”, which is engaged in road infrastructure. The Ministry of Energy is responsible for the energy infrastructure, gas and electricity facilities. Also, the Military Construction Company (VSK) of the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Transport are working in the new territories, Mr. Lomakin said.

The presidential decree on joining the Kherson, Zaporozhye regions, the DPR and the LPR to Russia was signed on September 30.
