Military salaries will be indexed in 2024

For the second reading in the State Duma, amendments were made to the draft federal budget, according to which the salaries of military and security officials will be increased in 2024. Document published in the database of State Duma bills.
The salaries of employees of internal affairs bodies, compulsory enforcement bodies and bodies of the penal system, as well as the State Fire Service and customs authorities will be indexed along with the salaries of employees of budgetary organizations.
In September, it became known that civil servants’ salaries would not be indexed in 2024. However, the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers did not apply to the indexation of public sector employees’ salaries. Employees of budgetary organizations will increase payments on October 1 according to the projected inflation rate – by 4.5%. And for employees in the fields of healthcare, social security, education and culture, salaries will be indexed by 9.8% from January 1, 2024.
On October 25, it became known that the State Duma, in the first reading, intends to consider a bill that would make it possible not to index the salaries of judges, civil servants, police officers, military personnel, etc. in 2024. The government introduced this initiative on September 29.
