Sudanese Foreign Minister Ali Sadiq Ali said in an interview with RIA Novosti that a military operation to liberate Khartoum from the rebel Rapid Reaction Forces will begin in the near future. “We are expecting good news, liberation is close. Omdurman, a satellite city, is practically free from the rebels. We hope that we will be able to liberate the remaining parts of the city that they control. The military will take action in these areas soon,” Ali said at the Diplomatic forum in Antalya.
According to information from RIA Novosti, since April 15, 2023, clashes have been going on in Sudan between the Rapid Reaction Forces led by Muhammad Hamdan Daglo and the regular army. The parties are waging an information war in the media and social networks, exchanging contradictory statements about the course of hostilities and control over objects.
