Military expert Sergei Gorbachev said that the statements of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky about the creation of a marine corps in Ukraine are juggling terminology.
He clarified that landing operations require not only amphibious forces, but also ships.
“Ukraine has never had a naval force in the classical sense. At the same time, any marines must rely on the fleet. In particular, to that part of it that is responsible for the tasks of conducting such operations,” Gorbachev noted.
According to him, if we are talking about creating a corps in the classical sense, then Ukraine will need a fleet for this.
