Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin will hold five meetings from March 13 to 17 with each of the Duma factions ahead of the government’s report to the State Duma. This was announced by his press secretary Boris Belyakov.
“Meetings are scheduled on these dates,” Belyakova quotes Interfax. The dates of Mr. Mishustin’s meetings with each specific faction have not yet been announced.
During the meetings, the prime minister will tell the parliamentarians about the main aspects of the work of the Cabinet, and the deputies will be able to come up with their own initiatives and proposals.
Earlier, State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin said that the government’s report to the lower house of parliament for 2022 would be held at one of the plenary sessions from March 21 to 23.
In February, Russian President Vladimir Putin held meetings with the leaders of the Duma factions in preparation for the address to the Federal Assembly. He met with the heads of the CPRF, LDPR, Just Russia – For Truth and New People factions Gennady Zyuganov, Leonid Slutsky, Sergei Mironov and Alexei Nechaev. He was also supposed to meet with United Russia representative Vladimir Vasiliev, but the PCR test of the latter showed a positive result.
