Mikhail Mishustin thanked the senators for the laws on supporting the participants of the special operation

Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin held a meeting with the Council of the Chamber of the Federation Council (SF), Vyacheslav Timchenko, a member of the Council, head of the Committee on Regulations and Organization of Parliamentary Activities, told Vedomosti. Together with Mishustin, his first deputy Andrey Belousov, deputies Tatyana Golikova, Victoria Abramchenko, Deputy Prime Minister and head of the government apparatus Dmitry Grigorenko, and Finance Minister Anton Siluanov met with the senators. According to Timchenko, the leadership of the Cabinet of Ministers and members of the Council of the Chamber discussed the development of the economy, support for the participants in the special operation, issues of social protection and control and supervisory activities.

Before that, Mishustin met with the Council of the Chamber of the Federation Council on June 28, 2022. He reminded the senators that a number of instructions had been given following the previous conversation. “20 of them have been fully implemented. 2 – under control, they remain in execution for the time being. We see this approach also in the preparation of new regulations. More than 130 of your initiatives have been presented and considered by the government. Most of them were definitely considered positively, a positive answer was given, ”the prime minister said. This year alone, President Vladimir Putin signed 53 laws that were developed with the direct participation of senators, Mishustin added.

He thanked the members of the Federation Council for their initiatives to protect the rights of participants in the special operation. “Such laws provide state support not only to our defenders, but, very importantly, to their loved ones, who live in different regions throughout Russia. A lot of work has been done, and I want to sincerely thank you for it, everyone who took part in this,” the prime minister said. He also noted the “indifferent position” of the Chairman of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko, formulated in the adopted law on the ban on re-profiling children’s health organizations and changing the status of land granted to them.

“I consider it right to continue to synchronize our interaction in the preparation of priority decisions. The sooner we can exchange legislative plans, the more effectively these decisions will be used. And government hours will be more efficient. Their conduct will be of better quality,” Mishustin said. He clarified that he is counting on more active interaction between senators and deputy prime ministers: “Each of them, who oversees the federal districts, will always be ready to listen and work together on what else to do.”

Valentina Matvienko, in turn, said that between the upper house of parliament and the government “a constructive interaction, mutual understanding has developed.” “We are in constant working contact, we really work as one team under the leadership of the president of our country,” the Federation Council speaker noted. According to her, the chamber and the government worked out various formats: government hours, open dialogues with ministers and secretaries of state. “Members of the government are always very seriously preparing for these events. It is always professional, objective. And the members of the Federation Council note the high professional level of the members of the government, no matter what format it may concern, ”said Matvienko.

Vyacheslav Timchenko told Vedomosti that he assesses the meeting with Mishustin as “excellent”. “As always, substantively, concretely, with concrete results,” the senator said.
