Microsoft Teams overtakes Zoom in the ranking of video conferencing services – Kommersant

Zoom has lost its leadership in the ranking of video conferencing services among subscribers in 2023, according to a Yota study. Microsoft Teams, which previously occupied third place, took first place. Yota notes a multiple increase in traffic for Russian services.

Video conferencing services for traffic among Yota subscribers (data on traffic volume is not provided):

  1. Microsoft Teams – triple growth,
  2. Zoom – decrease by 38%,
  3. Skype – decrease by 34%,
  4. Google Meet – 30% reduction,
  5. Pruffme – no changes.

In terms of the number of users, the first five places are occupied by Skype, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, Zoom and Yandex Telemost. Microsoft Teams has displaced Google Meet from second place in this indicator.

Pruffme ranks first among Russian video conferencing services; in 2023, it was unable to increase the volume of traffic, but the number of users grew by 8%. Traffic consumption for the Kontur Talk service increased by 5.5 times, for VK Teams – by 3.4 times, for TrueConf – by 2.3 times, for the Yandex Telemost service – by 62%, for the Salyut service Jazz” – by 50%.

Those who launched a video conferencing service at least once spent an average of 49 hours a month or 98 minutes a day on them. Residents of Norilsk (62 hours per month per user), Magadan (56 hours) and Tambov (55 hours) use them the longest.
