Wildberries will build a new warehouse in the Leningrad region to replace the burned one

New Wildberries warehouse with 154 thousand sq. m. m is planned to be built in the Tosnensky district of the Leningrad region. The corresponding agreement was signed by the regional governor Alexander Drozdenko and Wildberries CEO Tatyana Bakalchuk.
“For us, the Leningrad region is one of the priority regions. A large number of our consumers, producers, and entrepreneurs are concentrated here,” said Ms. Bakalchuk (quoted from “RIA News”). According to her, the company intends to make every effort to launch the warehouse this year.
The warehouse will be built in the village of Krasny Bor in the Tosnensky district of the Leningrad region. The production capacity will be 13.8 million units per year. According to Leningrad Governor Alexander Drozdenko, thanks to the opening of the facility, at least 7 thousand new jobs will be created in the region. Mr. Drozdenko emphasized that the warehouse should reach its design capacity in 2025, and the expected investments in the project will amount to about 9 billion rubles.
There was a major fire in mid-January happened at the Wildberries warehouse in the St. Petersburg village of Shushary. The fire was contained to an area of 70 thousand square meters. m, it was extinguished only a day later. After the fire, Gosstroynadzor stated that the Wildberries warehouse in St. Petersburg operated illegally and did not have an application for commissioning. The company’s press service denied this and said that the warehouse received a conclusion on compliance with city planning regulations and safety requirements.
After the fire, the marketplace began quickly look for new logistics facilities in St. Petersburg. In conditions of a serious shortage of such space in the region, the company temporarily rented warehouse space from other players – retailers VseInstrumenty.ru and Lenta, which collectively transferred about 37.4 thousand sq. m. m.
