Foreign Ministry: Russia will leave the building of the Ukrainian Embassy in Moscow inviolable

The head of the second department of the CIS countries of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Alexey Polishchuk, said that the building of the Ukrainian embassy, located in Moscow, will remain inviolable after the termination of the lease agreement for the land plot.

According to him, in this matter the Russian side will comply with the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations.

“The termination of the land lease agreement does not affect the integrity of the embassy building. It remains in the state ownership of Ukraine,” Polishchuk noted.

He clarified that the lease agreement was terminated by the Moscow mayor’s office. This decision was a response to the decision of the Kyiv City Council to terminate the lease agreement for the land plot of the Russian Embassy in Ukraine.
