MFA: IOC decision to exclude Russians – segregation based on nationality

The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs published statementwhich states that the IOC’s decision to exclude Russian athletes from participation in the Olympic Games can only be assessed as segregation based on nationality.

The Russian ministry described the actions of the IOC as double standards that destroy the legal regime for the admission of athletes to international tournaments.

The department recalled the principle of “sport outside of politics” and demanded that the International Olympic Committee adhere to it.
