Metropolitan Tikhon (Shevkunov) of Simferopol and Crimea promised to ask Russian President Vladimir Putin whether he is his confessor. He announced this on Wednesday, November 22, at a briefing in the format of a Simferopol-Moscow video bridge.
Answering the corresponding question, Metropolitan Tikhon noted that it is not the clergyman who calls himself a spiritual father, but a specific person, in this case the head of state, who must answer this question.
“If, God willing, I see Vladimir Vladimirovich (Putin – editor’s note), I will definitely tell him that Crimean journalists are also interested in this,” said Metropolitan Tikhon.
Let us remind you that Metropolitan Tikhon (Georgy Shevkunov) was appointed head of the Crimean Metropolis in October 2023. Some media called him “Putin’s confessor” (confessor is a priest to whom a person confesses regularly – approx. ed.)
