Melitopol State University is ready to teach Afghan and Syrian students, Rector of the university Andrey Chuikov said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
According to him, a group of Afghan students who had to move to Melitopol from Mariupol have already applied to the university. About 20 expressed their desire to study at Melitopol State University, Chuikov said. He also noted that negotiations are underway on the education of students from the Syrian city of Aleppo at the university.
Chuikov said that at present the university is solving the issue with Rossotrudnichestvo and the Russian Foreign Ministry about the possibility of training this category of students. He also noted that about 10,000 students are currently studying at the university, including almost 3,000 full-time students.
Melitopol State University (Zaporozhye region) was founded on May 27, 2022, they have a certificate of state accreditation in the Russian Federation and federal status. The structure of the university includes 6 faculties and 3 colleges. It trains specialists in 57 areas.
