Attempts to destabilize the situation in Dagestan were supervised from abroad. The head of the region, Sergei Melikov, stated this at a meeting with journalists.

According to the head of the republic, the unrest in Dagestan was organized by enemies and opponents of Russia. They used prohibited techniques related to “inflaming ethnic hatred and interfaith problems.”

Melikov noted that calls for rallies were published by one of the pro-Ukrainian Telegram channels, “Morning of Dagestan.” It is “administered and regulated from the territory of Ukraine – by traitors, Banderaites,” the head of Dagestan noted.
