Meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council started in Bishkek

The leaders of the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) started the meeting within the framework of the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council (SEEC) in Bishkek. The meeting is attended by Russian President Vladimir Putin, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Presidents of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev and Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov.
“Current issues of the EAEU activities, prospects for further deepening of integration processes, in particular, improving the functioning of the single market for goods and services are being discussed,” the Kremlin’s press service said.
The EAEU summit will be held in narrow and expanded formats. Presidential aide Yury Ushakov said that during his speech, Vladimir Putin would outline the priorities of the Russian presidency in 2023. He also admitted that the leaders of the EAEU would discuss a “tripartite gas alliance” between Russia, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. The last meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council was held via video link on May 27.
