Medvedev: the counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine did not come as a surprise to Russia

Ukraine’s counter-offensive did not come as a surprise to Russia, since Kyiv needs to justify the money and weapons received from the West. This was stated by Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev.

“The enemy has long promised a great counteroffensive. And it looks like something has already started. No surprises, since the Kyiv regime has no choice. We must attack. It is necessary to justify the received loot and weapons, ”- wrote politician in his Telegram channel.

According to Medvedev, “a few reports from American agents” are enough to write off Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and other Ukrainian officials “for scrap.” Because of this, the Kyiv regime has no choice but to “go to the end, sending thousands of mobilized to perish,” he added.

At the same time, the deputy chairman of the Security Council urged not to underestimate the enemy. According to Medvedev, Kyiv and the West “are ready to do anything to wipe our country off the face of the earth.” The politician noted that now Russia needs to “concentrate as much as possible and give a worthy answer.”

He pointed to the moral superiority, as well as the “significant advantage” of the Russian army in aviation, armored forces and precision weapons. Medvedev said the Russian military needed to “stop the enemy” and then launch an offensive to “liberate our lands and protect our people” and also “depose the Nazi Kiev regime.”

The counteroffensive of Ukraine is announced in the winter. Some officials say the offensive has already begun, while others say preparations are still ongoing. Officially, Kyiv did not announce the start of the counteroffensive.

The Russian authorities claim that the Armed Forces of Ukraine have been conducting offensive operations since June 4. On the night of June 5, the Ministry of Defense reported about the large-scale offensive of the Ukrainian army in five sectors of the front in the South Donets direction. “The goal of the enemy was to break through our defenses on the most vulnerable, in his opinion, sector of the front. The enemy did not achieve his tasks, he was not successful, ”the department noted.

In the Kremlin declaredthat the counteroffensive does not bring Kyiv the achievement of “set goals”. According to the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov, the offensive actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are “choking”.

State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin drew attention to the silence of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Western leaders about the start of the counteroffensive. According to the chairman of the lower chamber, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have no success, while the enemy suffers “huge losses.”

By words Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Sergei Shoigu, on June 4 and 5, the Armed Forces of Ukraine lost a total of more than 1,900 servicemen. At the same time, 71 servicemen of the RF Armed Forces were killed on the Russian side, and another 210 were injured.
