Medvedev said that Russia has the right to defend itself with any weapon

Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev commented on the message of Russian President Vladimir Putin to the Federal Assembly and the speech of American leader Joe Biden in Poland.

Medvedev called the decision to suspend Moscow’s participation in START III “overdue”, and noted its inevitability. According to him, Russia “was prompted to take such a step by the war declared by the United States and other NATO countries to our country.” The politician added that this decision will have “a huge resonance in the world.”

“It is obvious to all reasonable forces that if the United States wants the defeat of Russia, then we are on the verge of a world conflict. If the United States wants the defeat of Russia, then we have the right to defend ourselves with any weapon, including nuclear,” wrote Deputy Chairman of the Security Council in his Telegram channel.

Commenting on Biden’s speech, Medvedev called it “a sermon in the traditional American messianic vein, adjusted for senility.” According to the politician, the words of the US President about protecting democracy and about the US unwillingness to attack Russia sounded “dishonest and ridiculous.” Medvedev also recalled Biden’s statement about the settlement of the conflict “right now” in the event that Russia stops the special operation. The deputy chairman of the Security Council called the words of the American leader “refined lies.”

“If Russia stops the NWO without achieving victory, Russia will not exist, it will be torn to pieces. If the United States stops supplying weapons to the Kyiv regime, the war will end,” Medvedev concluded, noting that this is the truth.

Earlier today, the decision to suspend Russia’s participation in START III also commented Speaker of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin. He stated that the current situation was the result of Joe Biden’s foreign policy and called on the US Congress to realize the possible consequences of such a situation in the world.

During his address to the Federal Assembly on February 21, Putin declaredthat Moscow decided to suspend participation in the nuclear missile treaty. Later he introduced relevant bill to the State Duma. Today, February 22, the document will be considered in the State Duma and the Federation Council.
