In the case of the construction of a tank plant in Ukraine by the German concern Rheinmetall, Russia will respond with a “salute from Caliber” and other devices, declared Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, on his Telegram channel.
Earlier in interview Rheinische Post Armin Papperger, head of the Rheinmetall defense concern, said his group was in “promising” talks with Kiev to build a tank plant in Ukraine that could produce up to 400 Panther tanks a year. According to him, Ukraine needs 600-800 tanks, and it is possible to achieve the supply of such a quantity if they start production as soon as possible.
“The report about the construction of a tank plant by the Rheinmetall concern in Little Russia resembles the primitive trolling of the Kyiv regime,” Medvedev said, commenting on the plans of the German group.
According to him, if a positive decision is made to build such a plant, then Russia “is looking forward to it.” The politician said that this event will be “properly marked with a salute from Caliber and other pyrotechnic devices.”
Formerly Medvedev declaredthat Russia’s response to possible Kyiv strikes against Crimea or regions of the Russian Federation not bordering Ukraine can be anything, and Moscow does not set limits for itself. He also said that Ukraine’s increased dependence on financial assistance from the West would lead to the collapse of its economy. According to him, the country may suffer the fate of the former Western colonies, which were thrown by their masters into the “dustbin of history.” Industry and the agricultural sector will be destroyed first, and then the paralysis of the national economy and the “organic death of the remnants of the country” will come.
