Medvedev predicted an “unimaginable” situation with oil prices

Due to the imposition of restrictions on Russian oil, the “unimaginable” will happen to energy prices. This statement was made by Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev.

“It is simply amazing how humanity likes to constantly step on the same rake, trying to regulate prices for the sake of political conjuncture. These attempts always end with the disappearance of the product or the rise in prices for it. After all, nobody canceled the law of value. So it will be with oil. Of course, it will not disappear, but the unimaginable will happen to prices, ” wrote he is in his Telegram channel.

Medvedev drew an analogy with the desire of a “crowd of burghers who have taken a sip” to cool off in icy water. According to him, such an undertaking will not be successful, because in such a situation some people will “jump out” of the water, others will “learn to swim”, and a certain number of people will drown.

“And they will be buried, raising dreary toasts that they fell in an unequal battle with the Russian bear and General Moroz. Well, there they go! What is good for a Russian is death for a German,” Medvedev said.

According to the deputy chairman of the Security Council, it is clear that the initiative to limit the price of Russian oil will not bring anything good to consumers. Medvedev advised the Germans to stock up on schnapps, quilts and water heaters, since “winter has just begun.”

Today, December 5, in force entered a ban on the supply of Russian oil by sea to the EU countries. In addition, a price ceiling was introduced for Russian energy resources at $60 per barrel. This restriction was approved on December 3 by the G7 countries, as well as the EU countries and Australia.

After the restriction was established, the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov informedthat Moscow will not accept the introduction of a ceiling on Russian oil. According to him, preparations have already been made for this decision. Prior to this, the Kremlin has repeatedly stressed that Russia will not supply energy to countries that join the price ceiling.
