Medvedev: nuclear arsenal is the best guarantee of the preservation of great Russia

Nuclear weapons guarantee the preservation of Russia’s integrity and its status as a world power, Dmitry Medvedev, deputy chairman of the Russian Security Council, believes. Mr. Medvedev noted that when Western analysts talk about the “death of all empires” and predict the collapse of Russia, they forget that the collapse of a nuclear power is “a chess game with death.” And the outcome of this game may be the day of judgment for mankind. In his opinion, a nuclear catastrophe during the collapse of the USSR was avoided only because Russia received the entire arsenal of weapons of mass destruction.

“They say the Spanish empire collapsed, the English empire collapsed, others also ended their century. But Russia is not, even despite the death of the USSR. It’s kind of bad. Therefore, it is necessary by all means to push our country to a new round of disintegration, taking advantage of the military conflict in Ukraine. Do everything to make Russian state institutions stop working,” Mr. Medvedev described the train of thought of Western analysts in his Telegram channel“. He recalled the situation in the 1990s, when the acts of the central authorities practically ceased to be implemented locally, and “the flywheel of the country’s disintegration was already spinning at the first cosmic speed.”

However, according to the Deputy Chairman of the Security Council, now Russia is protected from such a scenario. “The entire strategic nuclear arsenal then remained in our country. And it is supported by us at a very high level. And this is the best guarantee of the preservation of Great Russia,” Mr. Medvedev wrote.

In late August, the head of the Federal Agency for Nationalities Affairs, Igor Barinov, at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke about the intentions of the West to arrange the decolonization of Russia, which implies the separation of national republics. “Yes, they changed the accents, they changed the terminology and now they are talking not about the ”export of democracy”, but about the ”decolonization” of Russia! – Mr. Barinov said then. – We have already calculated how many parts to divide us, what is the maximum number of citizens should live in these parts. But only, apparently, they do not know the history of the Russian Federation well!
