Medvedev: Instead of negotiations, Zelensky will “sign what they say”

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky announces his refusal to negotiate with the Kremlin, but he will not have to conduct them, he will “sign what he is told”, thinks Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of Russia Dmitry Medvedev.

“He will not have to conduct any negotiations. He will have to sign what they tell him,” he wrote in his Telegram channel.

According to Medvedev, given the experience of the Minsk agreements, “the price of this paper will not be high.” The ex-president added that each new president of Ukraine cancels the results of the work of the previous one and “starts his circus program anew.”

Russia’s special operation in Ukraine began on February 24, 2022. President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin called the protection of the inhabitants of Donbass, as well as the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine, its goals. During the special operation, Russian troops took full control of the LPR, as well as most of the DPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions. Subsequently, these territories became part of Russia, and on October 19 martial law was introduced in the regions.

Since the beginning of the special operation, the parties have held negotiations several times. The first three face-to-face meetings took place in Belarus in February-March, and the fourth round of the Russian-Ukrainian dialogue was held on March 29 in Istanbul. Later, the process was frozen, as Ukraine withdrew from it, and Zelensky legislated that negotiations could not be resumed while Vladimir Putin was president of Russia.
