The Russian special operation in Ukraine will continue until the victory over the Kyiv regime, and there will be more new regions within the Russian Federation, stated Deputy Chairman of the country’s Security Council Dmitry Medvedev in his Telegram channel.
“The special military operation will continue until the Nazi Kyiv regime is completely destroyed and the original Russian territories are liberated from the enemy. Victory will be ours. And there will be more new regions within Russia,” he wrote on the occasion of the Day of Reunification of the Russian Federation with new regions.
According to Medvedev, the entry of new regions into Russia became a symbol of the unity, will and dedication of the Russian people.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin in his video message on the occasion of the Day of Reunification of the DPR, LPR of Zaporozhye and Kherson regions with Russia statedthat this event is historical and fateful for the country. Putin noted that residents made this “conscious, long-awaited, hard-fought and truly popular decision” together during referendums in full compliance with international standards.
In the fall of 2022, following the results of referendums, the DPR, LPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions became part of Russia. Russian President Vladimir Putin emphasized that residents of the annexed territories “become citizens of the Russian Federation forever.” In January, the head of state instructed the government to speed up work to improve living standards in the new regions. Later, he called for bringing the regions to the national level within the current decade.
During his address to the Federal Assembly in February 2023, Putin promised to build up a large-scale program of socio-economic restoration and development of new territories of Russia.
