Medvedev commented on the initiative to establish the “Order of Bandera” in Ukraine

In connection with the idea to establish a new order in Ukraine, Medvedev recommended that the German authorities create the “Order of Adolf Hitler”, and Italy – the “Order of Benito Mussolini.” He also proposed the establishment of the Orders of Miklós Horthy, Francisco Franco, Ion Antonescu, and “heaps of other European allies of Hitler.”
“Maybe it’s time to establish the Order of Volodymyr Zelensky (Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. — Approx. Vedomosti)? You never know. So, just in case…” Medvedev concluded.
On May 1, a petition appeared on the website of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky calling for the establishment of a state award in the country in honor of Ukrainian nationalist Stepan Bandera. The order is proposed to be awarded to the military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) “for heroism and courage shown in the defense of the territorial integrity of the country.” At the time of writing, the petition was supported by 328 people. For its consideration by the President of Ukraine, 25,000 votes are needed.
