The military equipment of the Western countries, captured as trophies, was studied in Russia “down to the screw,” wrote Dmitry Medvedev, deputy chairman of the Russian Security Council.
Medvedev’s article on the events of 2008 was published in the Arguments and Facts newspaper.
The deputy chairman of the Security Council noted that, according to the results of the study, nothing outstanding was found in Western technology.
“The captured Western weapons with Ukrainian symbols on the armor were dismantled piece by piece,” he wrote, noting that in Russia it is possible to create both analogues and samples that surpass Western weapons in terms of characteristics.
According to Medvedev, Russia’s domestic military-industrial complex has a great technological and production potential. This became evident following the results of the Army-2023 forum, he noted.
