Medvedev called the UK “the eternal enemy” of Russia

The decisions of Great Britain do not matter for the Russian Federation, the kingdom is the “eternal enemy” of Russia. This statement was made by Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev, commenting on the new sanctions against five Russians, which are associated with the verdict passed on the politician Vladimir Kara-Murza (recognized as a foreign agent in Russia).

“However, do not care about their decisions. Britain was, is and will be our eternal enemy. Medvedev also marveled at the British authorities’ belief “in their own exclusiveness” and resented their “holy confidence” that Russian officials “would be hysterical” over the restrictions.

Earlier today the British Foreign Office introduced sanctions against judge Elena Lenskaya, the head of the Main Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, Major General Denis Kolesnikov, and three other Russians who are associated with the sentence of Kara-Murza. The politician is a citizen of Russia and a subject of Great Britain. April 17 Moscow City Court acknowledged Kara-Murza guilty in the case of treason, discrediting the army and participation in the activities of an undesirable organization, appointing him 25 years in prison.

After that, Russian Ambassador Andrey Kelin was summoned to the British Foreign Office. On April 18, British Ambassador Deborah Bronnert was summoned to the Russian Foreign Ministry. Russian side expressed strongly protested because of her statements and accused of interfering in the internal affairs of the country.
