Russia continues to develop a “comprehensive” bill on the procedure for the stay of foreigners in the country, said Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev at a meeting of the commission on improving the state migration policy, transmits “RIA News”.
“Entry control, rules regarding the stay of migrants on the territory of our country are an integral part of the security regime on the territory of our state,” he said.
The bill pays special attention to both the material re-equipment of migration services and the relief of threats “due to the current situation,” he said. According to him, now Russia in the field of migration policy is forced to work in completely different conditions than a few years ago.
In September, these issues will be discussed at a meeting of the large Security Council, he added.
Adoption of the law on the stay of foreigners in Russia Medvedev announced for the first time at the end of April. Then he said that in the current conditions it is better to refrain from concluding new international agreements, “unless they are dictated by an urgent need.”
The number of foreigners who entered Russia in the II quarter amounted to 4.16 million people, analysts from the audit and consulting network FinExpertiza reported earlier. Among them, 3.12 million people indicated work as the purpose of arrival, which is a third more than in 2021 and was a record quarterly value for at least the last six years, transmitted TASS.
