Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation, Chairman of the Russian Military Historical Society (RVIO) Vladimir Medinsky, during a working trip to Yekaterinburg, said that the West deliberately disrupted the signing of the peace agreement between Kiev and Moscow in Istanbul.

“Russia, not in words, but in deeds, was ready for a peaceful solution,” Medinsky said, stressing that Kyiv was already close to this decision.

“But such a decision absolutely did not suit Ukraine’s curators in the West,” Medinsky continued, stressing that the West absolutely consciously went to disrupt the negotiation process.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin, at a meeting with African leaders, showed the Istanbul Treaty and said that Kyiv “thrown it into the dustbin of history.”
