Turkey may ratify Sweden’s application to NATO by the end of the year, RIA Novosti reports citing Reuters.
Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan reportedly made a corresponding statement. He noted that Ankara is “working hard to ratify Sweden’s application.”
It was previously reported that Turkey’s ratification of Sweden’s application to NATO could be completed in a few weeks.
At the same time, the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Turkish Parliament previously decided to postpone the discussion of the bill approving the protocol on Sweden’s accession to NATO.
