Media: The Texas National Guard has seized part of the US border and is not allowing federal forces in

The National Guard of the American state of Texas has seized a section of the US-Mexico border, RIA Novosti reports citing a report from the CBS television channel.

As noted in the story, local security forces are currently not allowing federal border service officers to approach the border. The events take place in the border town of Eagle Pass, on one of the illegal migration routes from Mexico to the United States.

CBS notes that, by order of Republican Governor Greg Abbott, border patrol boats are prohibited from patrolling the approximately 4 km area.

The TV channel reports that the US Department of Justice has already addressed this matter to the country’s Supreme Court.

Earlier it was reported that in December alone, 302 thousand illegal migrants entered the United States from Mexico, which became an absolute historical record. Disputes over migration have been the main reason why Congress has so far failed to agree on the White House’s request for assistance to Ukraine and Israel.
