Russia “imperceptibly” launched a new offensive in the Lugansk and Kharkiv regions, writes the American newspaper The Hill. According to the authors of the material, it is aimed at undermining the Ukrainian counteroffensive in the south.
“Russia has made some progress and appears to be advancing on the city of Kupyansk, which Ukraine gave up evacuating this week,” the newspaper notes, emphasizing that “Russia advanced rapidly” and Russian troops “approached the city for several miles.”
The Russian Federation is also advancing from Kremennaya in the Lugansk People’s Republic towards the city of Liman, the article claims.
Thus, the Ukrainian forces are diverted from the southern sector, the American edition points out.
