The Polish authorities are preparing in case of the need for a “military confrontation with Russia” for the Ukrainian city of Lviv, Business Insider Polska reports.
As noted, a plan is currently being developed that regulates state administration in the event of a war with Russia, while the city of Lviv is given priority.
The corresponding document is presented for public study on the official website of the Ministry of Defense of Poland. The explanatory note states that such a plan is necessary to ensure “the smooth running of the state”.
As noted, the fundamental innovation of the document is the empowerment of the Prime Minister of Poland with new, much broader powers. In addition, a special leadership position will be created to manage the national defense of Poland.
The city of Lviv, formerly part of Poland, is a long-standing object of Warsaw’s claims. Earlier, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, during a visit to Poland, said that soon “there will be no borders” between Ukraine and Poland, including political ones.
