North Korean leader Kim Jong-un plans to visit Russia in September to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin. reported The New York Times, citing its own sources.
According to the publication, during a “rare sortie from his country,” Kim Jong-un will leave Pyongyang, probably on an armored train, to Vladivostok, where he will meet Putin. There is also a possibility that the North Korean leader will come to Moscow, but there is no certainty about this.
The New York Times writes that Russia and North Korea allegedly plan to agree on cooperation in the military sphere, including, among other things, the supply of weapons.
On July 25-27, the Russian delegation headed by Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu visited North Korea at the invitation of the North Korean side. The Russian Defense Ministry emphasized that the visit would help strengthen Russian-North Korean military ties. The parties also exchanged views on issues of global and regional security.
