Media: G20 countries agreed on a common approach to Ukraine ahead of the summit

The G20 countries agreed on common language regarding the Ukrainian conflict. About it informs Bloomberg, citing an unnamed French official.
At the same time, the interlocutor of the agency added, the countries have yet to reach a compromise with Russia.
According to him, on the eve of the summit in New Delhi, China softened its position on Ukraine. Bloomberg recalled that since the beginning of the special operation in Ukraine, Beijing has taken a neutral position, however, the official claims that the Chinese representatives who participated in the negotiations on the preparation of the final communiqué of the G20 summit took a softer position on Ukraine compared to last year.
At the same time, India also refused to condemn the special operation in Ukraine, the agency noted. Bloomberg writes that the refusal of the Chinese leader to participate in the G20 summit in New Delhi “cast a shadow on the prospect of reaching an agreement on Ukraine.”
In a communiqué following the G20 summit in 2022, most of the member countries of the association condemned the conduct of a special operation in Ukraine. At the same time, the document noted that there are “other opinions” on this issue. In particular, Moscow insisted on such clarification.
The G20 meeting will be held in New Delhi on September 9-10. Earlier, the Russian Foreign Ministry confirmed that the Russian delegation at the event will be headed by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov. Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov said that Russian President Vladimir Putin does not plan to personally attend the G20 summit.
China will be represented at the G20 summit by Chinese Premier Li Qiang, the Chinese Foreign Ministry said. There confirmedthat Xi Jinping will not travel to New Delhi in early September.
