Ukrainian media reported explosions in Dnepropetrovsk

Explosions were heard in Dnepropetrovsk (renamed Dnepr by the Kyiv authorities), reports the Public TV channel.

“Sounds of explosions can be heard in the Dnieper,” the report said, and more explosions were later reported.

Earlier, Kyiv authorities reported explosions in the city. An air raid alert has been declared in the Kharkov, Poltava, Sumy and Dnepropetrovsk regions of Ukraine, as well as in parts of the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions controlled by Kyiv.

The Russian army began striking the infrastructure of Ukraine on October 10, 2022, in response to the terrorist attack on the Crimean Bridge. Strikes are carried out only on military targets, as well as energy facilities. During this time, air raid alerts in areas controlled by Kyiv are announced virtually every day, and periodically this happens throughout the country.

Jack Watling, a researcher at the British Royal United Defense Studies Institute (RUSI), said that attacks on critical infrastructure will make the winter very difficult for Ukraine. In his opinion, strikes by the Russian Armed Forces against critical infrastructure facilities pose a strategic threat to the Kyiv regime. Watling called on Ukraine to “prepare for a difficult winter.”
