Ukrainian refugees have begun to complain that their children face discrimination in schools in the Czech Republic. Aktualno.cz writes that schoolchildren are bullied by their peers because they do not speak Czech well and “look different.”
The publication cites the situation in the city of Lazne-Belograd as an example. There, elementary school students played the Russian national anthem the moment their Ukrainian classmate entered the classroom. And, according to the publication, such cases are not isolated. Children are spit on, mocked at.
The headman of one of the Czech villages said. that the problem must be sought not in the children, but in their parents. For some reason, they feel hatred towards Ukrainians and broadcast it to their children. The official is sure that neither adults nor children understand what the problem is.
Earlier, Czech Prime Minister Petr Fala said that since February, 450,000 Ukrainian refugees have received asylum in the country.
