Mayor of Vladimir elected the head of one of the districts of the region Dmitry Naumov

The city council of Vladimir elected Dmitry Naumov, head of the administration of the Gorohovets district of the Vladimir region, as the new mayor of the city. The candidacy of Mr. Naumov was unanimously supported by 23 deputies (the City Council is 100% controlled by United Russia).
Three people applied for the post of mayor of Vladimir: in addition to Dmitry Naumov, they are the deputy director of the regional department of economic development Andrei Naumov and the first deputy coordinator of the regional branch of the LDPR Vladimir Rykunov. Initially, two more participated in the competition for the post of head of the city: Dmitry Lyzlov, Acting First Vice-Governor of the Vladimir Region for Domestic Policy, and Roman Kavinov, Deputy Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, Deputy Secretary of the Regional Branch of United Russia, but both withdrew their candidacies.
Dmitry Naumov in the election of the mayor of Vladimir was unanimously supported by the presidium of the regional political council of United Russia. The regional branch of the ruling party is headed by the governor of the Vladimir region Alexander Avdeev. In his Telegram channel he congratulated Mr. Naumov on his victory and wished him success in his work.
The post of mayor of Vladimir was vacated on September 20 in connection with the appointment to the Federation Council from the executive branch of the former mayor Andrei Shokhin, who headed the city for 11 years. The date of the inauguration of Dmitry Naumov will be determined after he resigns as head of the Gorohovets district, Alexander Karpilovich, press secretary of Vladimir’s administration, told Kommersant.
