The head of Krasnodar Andrey Alekseenko has filed an application for early termination of his powers, reports website City Duma of Krasnodar. The issue of termination of powers will be considered at a meeting of the City Duma on August 19.
Andrey Alekseenko was elected Mayor of Krasnodar in November 2021, having previously been Vice Governor of the Krasnodar Territory for six years. Yesterday, the Telegram channel of journalist Vladimir Solovyov reported that Mr. Alekseenko could head the government of the Kharkiv region in that part of the region that is controlled by the Russian army. Unofficial sources confirmed this news yesterday in the administration of the president of Kommersant; on August 17, no one confirmed the possible resignation of the mayor in the mayor’s office of Krasnodar.
