The mayor of the capital Nezalezhnaya, Vitaliy Klitschko, announced possible interruptions in communication in Kyiv. Also, problems can be observed with the Internet. Klitschko made the statement on the air of the Ukrainian TV channel after rocket attacks on the city’s energy infrastructure, which damaged energy supply facilities.
Also in Kyiv, the movement of electric transport, including the metro, was suspended. Buses line instead of trolleybuses and trams. Subway stations operate as bomb shelters.
After rocket attacks, Ukrenergo declared a state of emergency. On December 16, there was a loss of half of the consumption of the interconnected energy system. This means that the system crash mode has come. Ice, snow and strong gusts of wind complicate the repair of damaged facilities. In addition, permission from the military is required to begin restoration work.
Recall that Russia has repeatedly called on the Ukrainian authorities to sit down at the negotiating table. However, official Kyiv ignores all calls from the Russian side, preferring to continue the conflict.
