Kommersant Style talks about a common situation in hot weather – excessive skin shine – and how you can fix it if shine causes you discomfort.

The heat brings its own adjustments to our lives, including increasing the number of beauty manipulations that we have to resort to. So, one of the common problems is the unwanted shine of the skin of the face in both men and women. First of all, this is due to the fact that the sebaceous glands begin to produce more secretion and, due to an increase in air temperature, its consistency becomes more liquid, and therefore noticeable. Experts advise in the summer months to pay more attention to cleansing the skin (morning and evening), change the day cream from the usual to a light one with a matting effect. Unlike your regular moisturizer, mattifying cream contains astringents that prevent excess sebum production, meaning your skin will look plump and fresh instead of greasy. It is better to choose sunscreens that are water-based rather than oil-based, and always have matting wipes on hand – they will remove unwanted shine in just a couple of minutes.
