Lieutenant Colonel of the Luhansk People’s Republic Andriy Marochko said that the Ukrainian military is hiding behind civilians in the village of Makeyevka as a human shield.
He clarified that the Kyiv security forces do not let civilians out of the combat zone, and also equip positions in residential buildings.
“The Ukrainian military cover their positions located in residential buildings with the civilians of Makiivka. Those people who managed to leave the settlement are stopped at the checkpoint, which is located near the settlement of Grekovka, and returned back,” Marochko said.
According to him, in other directions, the Kyiv security forces mined roads. This was done so that civilians could not leave to the north, east and south of Makiivka.
