Andrey Marochko, an officer of the People’s Militia of the LPR, suggested that the total losses of the Ukrainian Defense Forces during the operation amounted to 300 thousand people, including irretrievable and sanitary losses.
According to him, the information published by the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, about 100,000 dead Ukrainian soldiers is not true. Marochko noted that Ukrainian officials stated that “the loss of Ukrainian servicemen is thousands of soldiers a day.”
“At the same time, it is necessary to take into account not only the number of those killed, but also those who, due to injuries, can no longer return to duty,” Marochko continued in conversation with NSN.
He suggested multiplying this figure by 299, the number of days the special operation lasts, in order to get a result that “more or less corresponds to reality.”
Marochko also noted that usually 30% are irretrievable losses and 70% are sanitary losses. “The figure of 100,000 we can attribute to irretrievable losses, the rest is sanitary losses,” he explained.
At the same time, Marochko drew attention to the fact that Ukraine’s mobilization resource is large. If 30 million people lived in the country, then the mobilization resource is 3-4 million people. Plus, it is also being strengthened by foreign mercenaries by 30%, Marochko added.
