Markov: US senators upset Zelensky with one word unfamiliar to him

Russian political scientist Sergei Markov commented on some of the results of the visit of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky to the United States and his communication with American senators.
“It turned out to be a funny scene in Washington,” Markov wrote on his Telegram channel. He explained that Zelensky communicated with US senators in English, but did not know any of the words.
“He especially had to look up the word Stalemate,” the political scientist noted, adding that this word was very often used by senators when speaking about Ukraine.
“This is how Zelensky learned that the main word about Ukraine in the minds of US senators means a dead end, a hopeless situation,” Markov noted.
He added that this is “useful knowledge” for the Ukrainian leader.
Earlier, Punchbowl, citing interlocutors in the Capitol, reported that Vladimir Zelensky’s visit to the US Congress on Tuesday did not change anything. Republican senators said they will continue to oppose billions in new aid to Ukraine until a bipartisan agreement is reached on the situation at the US southern border.
