Former Channel One editor Marina Ovsyannikova denied reports that appeared the day before that an investigation into her possible poisoning. The media wrote that Ovsyannikova allegedly felt ill after she opened the door of her apartment in Paris and came into contact with a certain “powder.” The sources also claimed that the victim said that she was “poisoned by the Russians.”
On October 13, Ovsyannikova confirmed on social networks that she was admitted to the hospital, but noted that she did not intend to advertise her health problems, and also denied the information presented in the media. According to her, she did not see any “powder” and she felt bad not at home, but on the street. At the same time, Ovsyannikova stated that French law enforcement officers really decided to carry out an investigation because, according to her, Russia “has long been associated with the poisoning of politicians and journalists.”
Ovsyannikova did not specify what caused the illness, but said that she was already feeling better and that “no toxic substances were found in the blood.”
“We are not talking about poisoning,” she concluded.
At the beginning of this month, Russian court sentenced Ovsyannikova in absentia to 8.5 years in prison under the article “about fakes about the army.”
