Manturov reported a twofold increase in state defense orders – Kommersant

The fulfillment of the state defense order is at least 98%, said Deputy Prime Minister and Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov. According to him, this is a record figure in recent history. The volume of state defense orders has doubled.

“Enterprises work rhythmically: the implementation of state defense orders is now at a level of at least 98%. This is a record, highest level of implementation of the State Defense Order in the entire modern history of Russia. At the same time, its actual volume has more than doubled compared to last year,” said Mr. Manturov “RIA News”.

For a number of items, production and supply volumes increased 10–12 times. The Deputy Prime Minister noted that “due to certain nuances” he cannot talk about “a specific range of supplies and financing.” “But believe me, the numbers are huge,” he added.

How asserts Deputy Prime Minister, Russia is ahead of Western countries in the production of weapons. In his opinion, the Russian Federation began to pick up the pace of production and reached it “earlier than Western countries.”

Control over state defense procurement is carried out by the Security Council, the Coordination Council for Military Defense under the government, the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, as well as the operational headquarters at the National Defense Center.

Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin in early December saidthat over the 11 months of 2023, the production of armored vehicles tripled, aviation equipment and UAVs doubled compared to the same period in 2022. According to him, the issues of providing armed forces personnel with field uniforms and equipment have been resolved.
