In 2022, Russian military personnel participating in a special operation in Ukraine received 340,000 sets of equipment. This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister, head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov in an interview with the TV channel RBC.
“340,000 kits were already delivered last year, this year large volumes will be delivered to law enforcement agencies in general and, in particular, to the armed forces,” he said.
Manturov recalled that this task was a serious challenge for the Russian industry, but the problem was resolved. The Deputy Prime Minister noted that 500 enterprises were connected to the production of equipment “almost at the same time.”
The head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade added that for the needs of the Northern Military District it is also necessary to multiply the production volumes in the powder and ammunition industry. He stressed that the development of unmanned aircraft is also required.
On October 25, at a meeting of the Coordinating Council to meet the needs of the troops, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin announced the need to launch a full-scale production of equipment and uniforms to provide for all those mobilized. He urged to use all the capacities of the light industry, including small enterprises in the regions, as well as to organize uninterrupted supplies of raw materials, materials, and fabrics.
